20 steel silos for concrete batching plants
Portasilo, York, UK, has won a contract worth over £800,000 to supply 20 silos for four concrete batching plants currently under construction by D&C Engineers from Tamworth.D&C’s managing director Geoff Chatterley, who is overseeing the project, required a manufacturing company to assist in keeping this project on schedule and that could produce the quality and documentation required to satisfy the nuclear industry. "We are pleased to say that Portasilo has successfully fulfilled this role for us," he said.
Portasilo will design and build eight 250t capacity and twelve 100t capacity steel silos for delivery in single units, with the final delivery scheduled for July 2015. Portasilo managing director Neil Gardiner said: "A main driver in Portasilo winning this business was our capability to manufacture large quantities of silos in a relatively short period of time. We are proud to be working on what is being described as one of this country's largest construction projects, and looking forward to seeing the batching plants in action later this year." www.portasilo.co.uk
