Hard steel offers cost-effective protection against
moderate wear Kalenborn of Vettelschoss, Germany, has extended its= range of abrasion-protection products with the introduction of KALMETALL-HB hard steels which are available in a choice of different specifications. Typic= ally with a hardness equivalent of around 400 Brinell, although harder categor= ies are available, KALMETALL-HB has been designed to provide high wear resist= ance and impact strength combined with adequate toughness. These properties al= low for good workability and the product is equally suited for forming and welding. Normally forming does not require heat treatment and the product= can be cut, drilled or milled as required. This allows for fabrication of com= plete components such as cones, separators and dust collectors. www.kalenborn.de
