°Celsius of Drunen, the Neth= erlands, has delivered a 7m long, screw type heat exchanger to Desotec of Belgium for cooling active carbon from 850° to 60°C at a rate = of 750t/h. Saturated carbon is heated in an oven to 900°C to gassify contaminants. This is carried out in an oxygen-free atmosphere to prevent the red-hot carbon from burning. It lea= ves the oven at 850°C and for the same reason the heat exchanger needs to operate in an oxygen-depleted atmosphere. During the process cooling water heats up from 30° to 38°C. www= .celsius.nl
