Heat exchanger cools starch powder at 8t/h °Celsius of the Netherlands has recently delivered a thi= rd screw heat exchanger to one of South Africa’s leading sweets manufacturers for cooling starch at a rate of 8000t/h used in the product= ion of jelly babies. Employing a mix of water and glycol at a temperature of minus 2°C as cooling liquid, the 8m long twin-screw machine cools the powder from 50 to 20°C. Previously supplied heat exchangers used air = as the cooling medium but this caused major dust problems. www.celsius.nl
