17.02.2014 Tension S-beams up to 6000kg capacity

Thames Side Sensors, Reading, UK, has launched a new series of tension S-beam load cells. The company states that the primary advantage of tension S-beams for weighing applications is that the line of force passes through the centre of the cell, resulting in a high degree of accuracy combined with economic use of space. Weigh hoppers, hanging tanks, bulk bag fillers, concrete batching plants and conveyors all utilise this design of weight measuring device. According to the company, there is growing demand for high accuracy, repeatable load cells with a small footprint and a low price. Thames Side’s answer to this challenge is the new range of T60, T61 and T65 load cells.

Available from 50kg to 6000kg capacity, these compact units offer 2mV/V or 3mV/V sensitivity, four-wire or six-wire (sense) connections and a high operating temperature range of minus-30 to plus-70°C. Another recent innovation from Thames Side is a hand-held load cell tester (see Industry News for the week of 10 February). www.thames-side.com
