10.02.2014 Talke opens advanced liquids packaging line for the Antwerp region

Feige Filling GmbH, Bad Oldesloe, Germany, in December successfully completed commissioning of a fully automatic drum and IBC packaging line at the Zwijndrecht, Belgium, liquids distribution centre of bulk logistics operator Alfred Talke. Here throughput of liquid chemicals had increased from 37 million tonnes in 2012 to 50Mt in 2013.

Talke again decided in favour of Feige for the million-euro-plus investment which was implemented in less than 11 months. This company had supplied similar equipment to Talke’s Hürth, Germany, site in 1995 which is still in operation today.
Feige not only supplied the fully automatic Advanced Line drum filler but also a Compact Line swivelling pallet filling station and a fully automatic palletising system. The entire conceptual design was supplied from one source in association with the subsidiary companies Sommer Anlagenbau (pipework and delivery of the enclosure), Haver ILS (conveyor technology) and other component suppliers, for instance for labelling and automatic strapping systems. Under conditions of stringent safety it is now possible to fill and pack around 100 drums/h of 330 different toxic and/or explosive chemicals supplied by road tankers. www.feige.com
