06.11.2017 Cassette dust filter certified as explosion safe

Infastaub, Bad Homburg, Germany, recently introduced the latest generation of its Infa-Micron MKR cassette dust filters which are particularly suitable for demanding  processes in chemical and pharmaceutical industries where dusts can occur which are either toxic or hazardous to health. For applications of this kind there is often a requirement for residual dust contents as low as 0.001mg/m3 to safeguard staff.

The new generation of dust filters has been designed for easier operation, increased gas tightness, enhanced cleanability inside and outside, as well as being of lower height compared with the previous series. After undergoing stringent tests by Germany’s FSA (Forschungsgesellschaft für angewandte Systemsicherheit und Arbeitsmedizin), the new cassette filter has been certified safe with regard to explosion protection and containment. Explosion tests with the Infa-Micron MKR were carried out with combustible dusts as well as with a combination of combustible dust and combustible gas (hybrid mixture). These tests showed no deformation at all and confirmed the high mechanical strength of the filter against explosion pressures. They demonstrated that the filters comply with highest safety standards when processing toxic substances. www.infastaub.de
