04.09.2017 J-Tec to build polymer storage and packaging line in Thailand

J-Tec Material Handling, headquartered in Belgium has won a contract to supply a new plant in Thailand for Total Corbion PLA. This facility will produce polylactic acid, a bio-based, biodegradable polymer obtained by fermenting renewable resources (sugar or starch) to produce lactic acid. Corbion has established a joint venture with Total to produce and market polylactic (PLA) polymers. The PLA industry is expected to grow rapidly over the next few years.

J-Tec will deliver plant to provide for the storage and packaging of PLA, which is the final step in the process. This includes various pneumatic conveying systems, a series of small silos each of 20t capacity, three large 300t blending silos, a packaging line for bulk bags and octabins, and a filling system for 20ft freight containers. This project is seen as a very important milestone for J-Tec’s business developments in South-East Asia. The company, which recently launched a brand new website, will be exhibiting on Stand 1-119 at POWTECH. www.j-tec.com
