07.08.2017 Single machine offers conversion from oscillating mill to crusher

Frewitt, Granges-Paccot, Switzerland, has developed the FreDrive-Crusher which is specially designed for crushing products in the pharmaceutical and food industries. The new concept behind the FreDrive-Crusher allows for it to be easily converted from an oscillating mill to a crusher for products with an input size within the 3-15cm range, reducing them to a lump size of 1-2cm. An intelligent system integrated into the mill allows the rotor to reverse if it becomes blocked. This function prevents a mechanical overload of the system and ensures a continuous process without the machine shutting down. After an initial crushing of the product, the operator can remove the crusher tool element, replacing it with OscilloWitt tools, hence reducing a product from up to 5cm to a final size of 250μm, with a single machine, specially designed to mill, as well as de-agglomerate heat-sensitive and difficult-to-process products.

Advantages of the FreDrive Crusher include: a broad spectrum of applications for any type of dry, moist (not sticky), hard, cryogenised or heat-sensitive powder; extreme production flexibility owing to a novel modular concept allowing very quick tool interchange; clear GMP-capable concept for smooth, reproducible production; high production safety offering the ATEX certified concept for zones 0/20 up to an EMI of > 1mJ; reduced operational costs thanks to the unique oscillating and crushing modular concept; simple and fast to clean with washing-in-place (WIP) as an option; reduced energy consumption; and very versatile thanks to a wide selection of tooling elements. This machine will be featured by Frewitt at POWTECH (Stand 1-343). www.frewitt.ch
