31.10.2016 Traditional R&D to be augmented by future lab

Schenck Process, Darmstadt, Germany, has inaugurated its new ‘future lab’ with the objective of exploring new concepts in greater depth. The intention is to develop creative ideas and then turn them quickly into reality. In doing so, the company’s new future lab will also rely on interaction with customers, since it does not regard innovation as an end in itself, but rather aims to innovate with the intention of generating added value for the organisations it serves. The new laboratory will be much more than just a physical location. It will aim to bring together a creative working environment with a culture of openness and dialogue between employees, internal and external parties, visionaries and entrepreneurs.

The company stresses that not every idea will be successful, so making mistakes is not only permitted but absolutely necessary. Schenck Process’s future lab is the joint brainchild of president & CEO Andreas Evertz and Jan Krall, who will be its head and will report directly to Mr Evertz, who commented: “This kind of work needs a young and intrepid lateral thinker, like Mr Krall. He has my full support!” www.schenckprocess.com
