27.06.2016 Fast filling of bulk containers

Van Beek, Drunen, the Netherlands, has developed a screw conveyor system which is capable of filling a lined 20ft freight container up to 85% full in less than 30 minutes. The container, mounted on a truck, is reversed to allow the screw to enter through the aperture of the container liner. The machine is fitted with a lamp to allow loading operations to be carried out in poor weather and a fill detector is fitted to the end of the screw. The system has already shown itself to work efficiently with granulate such as plastic granules, with powders such as flour and also with catalyst and flakes.

For customers who have the option and space to stand containers vertically, Van Beek can also offer the XL version of its Dino bulk truck filler. Offering a dump height of more than 6m, this machine is capable of filling a vertical 20ft container from the top. www.van-beek.nl

The Van Beek container filling screw can be static or wheel-mounted (as shown); the inlet hopper (not shown) can be filled from a silo, from bags by means of a Dino truck loader or by a wheeled loader
